I’m listening to wind rustle branches and play melodies on metal pipes. A neighbor is using a saw, his dog reacts. I think he makes furniture. The wind comes from the West, a little from the South as well. It is pulling in clouds all the way from the coast. Whistling now under the door. Eighty degrees is recorded but the air leaking into the house feels cooler on my legs and on my feet. I’ve opened the windows.

A real spring day. Wind, cumulus clouds hiding parts of all the blue, lower seventies. I was cold this morning. Air comes in below the doors. I considered socks. The light keeps dimming and I have to squint at the bright screen. Now it’s brighter out. No plans for the outdoors. I’ll sit and watch the neighbor’s tree play with the wind. Our high window trims a small piece of sky out for our viewing. By this, I think there are more clouds, maybe rain coming. A nice illusion that I’ll live in for a while.

He’s just turned ten months <3

Today we’ve been having some winter weather.
I woke up cold, to wet streets outside and a need for the comforter again, something I thought we were through using for a while.
The thermostat read sixty-eight degrees.
I put socks on my little one’s feet, on mine too.
It’s been dark all day.
I’m being told the temperature is fifty-two degrees.
It was nearly ninety degrees two days ago.
My face feels cold when I get close to the window.
Nimbostratus are lingering low and they’re going to let loose again soon.
I saw pea sized hail an hour ago.
I’ve already put away my winter garments in preparation for spring and summer.
It’s been so warm that I haven’t needed them.
But we turned the air off and the heat on today.
Right now the winds are a bit rowdy, humidity is high, and the clouds don’t appear to be leaving.
Forecasters say they are.
Today has been lovely and unexpected.
So.
